102nd Street North St. Pete Walkways

On 102nd Street North the walk is often the only dry route from the driveway to the lanai. A downspout dumps on it. The turf edge creeps in. After a storm the path is the low spot.

Walkway sequence

We pick up the downspout first, then build the path. Aggregate base, restrained edge, pitch to a swale or a drain that already works. The gate is measured before the border is set so the slab does not steal the swing.

• Gate swing and latch checked against the finished height

• Edge restraint continuous along the turf

• Pitch off the house, with no pond at the lanai step
