114th Street North St. Pete Walkways
114th Street North walkways are often the guest path from the driveway to the front door. The run is short. The mistakes are the same as a longer path: no edge, no pitch, and sand that washes out.
We build the walk so it stays narrower than the lawn wants to make it, and so water does not sit at the stoop.
Entry elevation first
The door threshold sets the high end. We do not bury a weep screed or hold water against the slab to make the walk look flatter. Pitch runs to the yard or to the drive, whichever already works.
A step down from the stoop is better than a field that ponds. Where the walk meets the driveway, the joint is restrained so the two fields do not grind.
Edge, sand, and the hose
Rigid edge restraint on the lawn side. Joint sand locked after compaction. A hose bib that used to splash onto soil gets a small slope so the splash leaves the walk.
If irrigation heads sit in the path, we move the border or the head. Overspray is the usual reason a new walk looks failed in a month.
How to start a 114th Street North quote
Call 727-490-9798 or book online. Send a photo of the entry and one of the drive. We typically reply the same business day and walk the path before we lock a number.
