120th Street North St. Pete driveway aprons
120th Street North aprons take the same beating as the rest of this west St. Pete grid: gutter water, delivery trucks, and a sandy base that settles under a thin concrete lip. When the apron dips, the street drains into the driveway after a hard rain.
Pitch and the sidewalk joint
The repair starts at the sidewalk, not at the garage. We match the city walk elevation, then build a paver apron that rises just enough to keep gutter flow out of the driveway and still lets a car enter without a scrape. Soldier courses take the tire wear. A compacted base replaces the washed sand under the old slab.
When the driveway should come with it
The field pavers or concrete beyond the apron are already rocking.
Water stands in the tire tracks after a normal afternoon storm.
The garage threshold is lower than the street gutter.
Previous asphalt patches have crumbled at the joint.
PaverForge builds these aprons from our St. Pete Beach shop and serves 120th Street North directly. Call (727) 490-9798.
