121st Street North St. Pete walkways
121st Street North walks often do two jobs: a front path to the porch, and a connector from the driveway to a side gate. Both fail the same way. Concrete ribbons crack at the control joints, and the low end holds water against the foundation planting.
One continuous walk
Where the front walk and the side connector meet, we build them as one paver layout so there is no mismatched patch. The surface pitches to the lawn, not to the stucco. At the gate we leave a flat landing so the gate does not drag, and we keep the path narrow enough that the side setback still drains.
Materials that fit this block
Concrete pavers in a light tone so the walk does not heat the entry.
A border that reads cleanly against St. Augustine or a mulched bed.
Polymeric joint sand for summer downpours.
A base deep enough for the sandy fill common on this street.
