124th Street North St. Pete Walkways
Walkways on 124th Street North
Walkways on 124th Street North usually run from the sidewalk to a covered entry, then jog along the side yard to a gate. The original ribbon is often a 3-foot concrete walk that has lifted at the oak roots and dropped at the irrigation valve box. A paver walk replaces that ribbon with a path that can be lifted and reset if a root returns.
PaverForge cuts the failed concrete, protects the irrigation laterals, and builds a compacted base wide enough for the paver and its edge restraint. The walk is pitched a quarter inch per foot toward the yard, not toward the stucco, and the entry landing is kept flush with the door threshold.
Crossings the walk has to survive
Irrigation valve boxes set flush, not proud of the paver.
Low-voltage lighting sleeves under the border, not through a joint.
A wider landing at the front door for packages and a storm door swing.
A gate-side return that does not trap water against the fence.
On a narrow north-St. Pete lot the walk is also the service path for the AC tech and the pool company. A 4-foot width, rather than a 3-foot ribbon, keeps that traffic off the lawn and off the planting bed. Soldier-course edges hold the field when a wheelbarrow or mower crosses the same line every week.
