126th Street North St. Pete Driveway Aprons
A second look at north-side aprons
126th Street North has the same apron problem as the streets just east of it, with one extra constraint: several drives share a sidewalk joint with a neighbor, and a utility patch already breaks the concrete. Replacing only the pretty part of the drive leaves the failed apron in place and the new field lipped at the patch.
PaverForge treats the apron as its own detail. The sidewalk joint is saw-cut square, the utility patch is rebuilt or sleeved so it can be lifted later, and the paver field starts on the private side of that joint. A header course locks the apron so turning tires do not shove the first row into the sidewalk.
Apron checks before pavers are ordered
Sidewalk elevation and cross-slope, so the new apron does not create a pond.
Garage threshold height, so the run does not need a sudden ramp.
Location of the water meter and any shallow cable.
Whether the city apron concrete is remaining or being replaced on the private side only.
Color is matched to the house, not to a showroom board that will fade differently in full sun. A tighter joint and a sealed edge at the garage keep sand from tracking in. The rest of the drive can be phased if the apron is the part that is actually failing.
