130th Street North St. Pete Walkways
130th Street North walkways are short, and that is the trap. A three-foot path looks simple until the edge restraint is skipped and the first course creeps into the planting bed. After a month the path rocks, and joint sand is in the mulch.
A path that stays put
We set a compacted aggregate base, a pitch that does not dump at the entry, and a rigid edge on both sides. The width has to clear a guest with a bag and still leave the irrigation heads outside the field. Cuts at the stoop are planned, not fitted on the last course.
If the existing stones are sound and the base was never built, we rebuild the base and reuse what we can. A re-level on a failed base only buys a season.
