137th Street North St. Pete Side Yards | PaverForge

Side yards on 137th Street North are the service corridor: AC condenser, pool pump, trash carts, and the gate to the back. A mulch path disappears in one summer. PaverForge sets a paver run that a mower and a technician can use without tracking shell into the house.

Gate swing and equipment pads

The gate has to open onto a flat landing, not onto a slope that lifts the latch. Condensers and pool pumps sit on their own pads, isolated from the walking field, so vibration does not telegraph into the pavers. We leave a hose-bib splash zone in a coarser joint or a small drain, not in polymeric sand that will stain black.

  • Width for a mower or cart, usually 36 inches clear between fences.

  • Separate equipment pads so the walk can be reset without moving the pump.

  • A turn pad at the back gate if the fence corner is tight.

  • Edge restraint against the fence footer so sand does not migrate under the wood.

Water has to leave

These side yards are the low side of many northeast St. Pete lots. We do not build a bathtub between two fences. A slight pitch to a pop-up emitter or the rear swale keeps the pavers from holding water against the stem wall. PaverForge, 727-490-9798, paverforge.com/services.

If a sewer cleanout sits in the run, we set a flush ring in the paver module so the lid is findable and the field stays continuous.
