139th Street North St. Pete Walkways | PaverForge
139th Street North walks run from a front door that is often a step up from a narrow planting bed. PaverForge builds the path, the step, and the landing as one job so the door threshold is not left on a loose concrete pad while the walk is pavers.
Landing and step
A single step at the stoop needs a landing at least as deep as the door swing. We set that landing in the same paver module as the walk, with a nosing that does not rock. Risers stay consistent. A 4-inch first step and a 7-inch second step is how people trip after dark.
Sleeve low-voltage wire in the base before pavers, not in a saw cut later.
Cross irrigation at a marked sleeve so a future repair does not guess.
Keep the walk off the AC condensate line, or give that drip its own splash pad.
Use a border that can be cut cleanly around an existing hose bib.
Shade and joint sand
This block stays damp under the oaks. Open joints grow algae. We tighten the joint and pitch the walk so it dries. PaverForge, 727-490-9798, paverforge.com/services.
If the walk shares a gate with the side yard, we align the two fields so the gate leaf does not drag a high paver.
