145th Street North St. Pete Walkways | PaverForge
Walks on 145th Street North are often the rear run from a lanai to a side gate, or a short connector across sandy fill that was never compacted. The stones rock, the joint sand is gone, and a low bay holds water after a Gulf afternoon storm. Color is not the repair.
Sandy fill needs a real base
We excavate the failed bed, compact aggregate, and set the walk with a cross-slope that leaves the lanai threshold instead of running at it. Where the walk meets a pool deck, we keep the joint flush so bare feet do not catch a lip. Edge restraint stops the field from creeping into the turf.
If the existing pavers are sound, a re-level is often the right job. If the base was a shovel of sand on fill, we rebuild it and reuse what we can.

Cross-slope away from the lanai and the pool beam
Flush joint at the deck so the walk is not a trip lip
Compacted base on sandy fill, not a fresh sand bed
Edge restraint along open turf
Joint sand locked after the final compaction
