14th Avenue North Courtyard Pavers in St. Petersburg
14th Avenue North is a shaded north St. Petersburg street. Courtyards here are not open Gulf decks. They sit between the house, a neighbor fence, and a live oak that drops leaves on every joint. Irrigation overspray is usually the stain, not the paver color.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds and re-levels those courtyards from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at paverforge.com/book-online.
Shade, sand, and a short gate
Access is the job. Many 14th Avenue North lots only open through a side gate. We stage pavers and base in the driveway and move material by the wheelbarrow load, not by backing a dump truck into the oak canopy. The base still gets compacted in lifts. A pretty field on loose sand settles at the first summer rain.
Joints in shade stay damp. We use a polymeric sand suited to that, and we keep the field pitched so irrigation and roof wash do not pond against the stem wall. Soldier-course borders lock the pattern where the fence post already stole a few inches.
What belongs in the quote
Courtyard and lanai-edge paver fields
Re-lay when the base has washed out
Flush drain collars so the grate sits in the pattern
Edge restraint along fence lines that creep
A courtyard on 14th Avenue North should drain, stay put under a chair, and match the house instead of fighting the oak. We will measure the gate before we promise a stone size that will not fit through it.
