186th Street North St. Pete Aprons
When the sidewalk is the high point
On 186th Street North the city sidewalk is often the high point and the old apron concrete has scaled below it. A thin overlay paver job leaves a lip at the street and a birdbath where the two surfaces meet. Turning out of the driveway then chips the first course.
We remove the failed apron, set the base to the sidewalk elevation, and build the flare so the driving surface meets the walk without a step. The street edge gets a restrained border that can take the gutter flow. Joints are filled after the plate pass so the first rain does not wash the bedding out at the curb.
Elevation taken from the sidewalk, not from the failed concrete
Flare built without a trip lip at the right-of-way
Border restrained at the gutter line
Compaction before joint sand, not after a rain
We replace aprons on 186th Street North from our St. Pete Beach shop. Call 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at paverforge.com/book-online.
