201st Street North St. Pete Courtyards
Courtyards on 201st Street North sit between the house and a screen cage or a low side wall. The opening looks flat. After a Gulf storm it is not. Water from the roof leader and the cage tracks to the same corner.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets courtyard pavers so that corner drains, and the field does not creep toward the slider.
What these courtyards need
Pitch away from the house, even when the cage makes the yard look level
A roof-leader landing that does not cut a channel in the pavers
Edge restraint at the planter and at the screen track
Joint sand that locks after compaction instead of washing into the bed
How we set the field
We pull the failed sand, rebuild a compacted base, and pitch the surface to a working low point or a drain that already takes water. The first course stays off the foundation so splash does not sit against the wall.
