212th Street North St. Pete Aprons
Driveway aprons on 212th Street North in St. Petersburg meet a sidewalk joint, a utility crossing, and fill sand that moves after a summer rain.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds that apron so the first ten feet hold a car, not just a pretty border. The shop is in St. Pete Beach. The same crew sets these northern St. Pete aprons.
What the apron has to do
The sidewalk joint has to stay flush. A lip there trips a walker and catches a tire. We cut the joint clean, set the paver field to the concrete, and keep the pitch toward the gutter instead of back at the garage.
A water, sewer, or cable crossing under that apron needs a sleeve before the base goes in. Digging the apron up later is how a new field gets a patch that never matches.
Fill sand on these lots is not a base. We excavate to a driveway section, compact aggregate in lifts, and restrain the edge so the field does not creep toward the street.
How to start
Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798. Send a photo of the sidewalk joint, the garage threshold, and any utility marks. We typically reply the same business day and walk the apron before we lock a number.
