22nd Street NE Old Northeast walkways
22nd Street NE walkways are the narrow run from the front gate or the driveway to the seawall steps. On a lot this tight, a 30-inch path is too narrow for a trash cart and a person at the same time, and it is too narrow for a pool-equipment dolly.
Width and sleeves
A 42-inch restrained walk clears a cart without stepping into the planting bed. Empty conduit sleeves go in under the base before the pavers lock, so landscape lighting and a gate strike can be pulled later without cutting the field.
Oak roots are the other constraint. A sand-set field with a pinned edge can be lifted in a panel when a root crosses the walk. A poured ribbon sidewalk cannot. The walk should also fall away from the house, not toward the stucco, so irrigation overspray does not sit on the foundation.
Gate and step landings
The gate leaf needs a landing, not a paver that rocks under the threshold. The seawall steps need the same: a last course that meets the concrete tread without a toe-catch. Both landings sit on their own restraint so a later step reset does not unzip the whole run.
PaverForge builds these Old Northeast walks from the St. Pete Beach shop. The path stays locked, and the sleeves stay empty until the electrician needs them.
