236th Street North St. Pete Aprons
Aprons on 236th Street North in St. Petersburg fail at the sidewalk joint when the base never reached the city approach.
The numbered grid up here sits on sand. A two-inch skim under the apron looks fine the week it is set, then dishes at the tire turn after the first wet season.
What the apron actually needs
The field has to meet the sidewalk without a proud lip, and the base has to continue under the last course, not stop at the property line. Edge restraint that is only staked in sand will creep.
Irrigation in the parkway is the other leak. Overspray and a shallow sleeve under the apron wash fines out of the joint. We sleeve that crossing before the pavers go down.
PaverForge Hardscapes installs and re-levels those aprons from our St. Pete Beach shop. Call 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
