242nd Street North St. Pete Aprons
Driveway aprons on 242nd Street North in St. Petersburg often take a boat trailer and a second car on a short flare.
The weak point is the gutter joint. If the base stops on the driveway side of that joint, the first row rocks after a wet month.
What we set before the pavers
We carry compacted aggregate through the apron to the street joint, not a sand skim over the old concrete lip.
Edge restraint follows the flare so the field does not creep into the grass. Pitch sends rinse water to the gutter, not back at the garage.
A trailer tire should cross the joint without a bump that knocks the first course loose.
What we do not promise
We do not move the city curb or pull a right-of-way permit. If the gutter is broken, that is a separate call before we lock the apron.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets these aprons from the St. Pete Beach shop. Call 727-490-9798 with a photo of the street joint and the turn you actually make.
