256th Street North St. Pete Walkways
256th Street North walkways are the short runs from driveway to front door or side gate. They fail at the border first. Once the edge restraint lifts, the field spreads and the path rocks underfoot.
Border before beauty
A new border paver on a failed edge just hides the gap. We pull the loose course, set a restraint that is spiked into compacted base, and relay the field so the joints stay tight. Irrigation heads that spray the path get noted, because constant overspray is what empties the joint.
Root heave and gates
Oak roots and a dragging gate are the other two calls on this grid. We do not pave over a live root and hope. The path is broken at the heave, the base is rebuilt, and the gate swing is checked so the new field does not catch the bottom rail.
How to start
Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798. A photo of the open border and the gate threshold is enough to tell a re-level from a rebuild. Service area includes St. Pete Beach, Gulfport, and north St. Petersburg.
