259th Street North St. Pete Walkways
259th Street North front walks are the path guests actually use. Oak roots lift a course, the path ponds at the porch, and any lighting is a cord run across the joint sand.
Break the path at the root
Paving over a root buys one wet season. We open the heaved section, give the root room or bridge it, and rebuild the base so the rest of the walk stays on grade. The porch step is the benchmark, not the middle of the path.
Sleeve the lights while the base is open
A flush sleeve for low-voltage is cheap while the field is up and expensive after polymeric sand is in. We leave a conduit to the porch and a pull point at the walk edge so a later fixture does not mean cutting the new pavers.
