262nd Street North Ozona walkways
262nd Street North is in the Ozona pocket, just south of Crystal Beach proper. Walkways here usually connect a shell drive to a raised entry, then turn along the side yard toward a gulf or bay view. The path has to stay dry and narrow enough that it does not eat the only side-yard access.
A path, not a second driveway
We keep the walking surface about three feet clear, widen it only at the stair landing, and pitch it a quarter inch per foot to the open side. A concrete ribbon walk cracks at the shell transition. Pavers on a compacted base can be lifted if a sewer or irrigation line later needs a repair, which matters on these older north-county lots.
Use a light paver so the path does not store heat against a wood stair.
Stop the walk short of any dune vegetation and do not pave into a protected setback.
Add a flush edge rather than a raised curb so a cart can cross the path.
If the walk on 262nd Street North is heaving at the shell joint, PaverForge can reset it. Call 727-490-9798 or start at paverforge.com.
