264th Street North Crystal Beach aprons
264th Street North is another Crystal Beach cross street where the public edge is often shell, not curb and gutter. An apron that ends in a raised concrete lip catches trailer bunks and bicycle tires. The repair is a paver apron that feathers into the shell and still has a real base under it.
Feather the road, lock the house side
On the street side we taper the last course so a shell dressing can meet it. On the house side we lock the field to the existing drive so the two surfaces do not separate at the property line. Drainage stays in the swale. We do not pipe roof water onto the apron.
Compact in lifts. A single dump of base on dry sand will rut under the first boat pull-out.
Match the existing drive color if the apron is only a partial rebuild.
Mark irrigation heads before excavation. North-county heads sit right at the shell edge.
PaverForge handles apron-only work as well as full drives. For 264th Street North, call 727-490-9798.
