28th Street NE Old Northeast walkways
Walkways on 28th Street NE from sidewalk to porch
28th Street NE still has the Old Northeast walk: a ribbon from the sidewalk, up a short rise, to a porch that was built when the lot drained differently. Those walks settle at the sidewalk joint and pond at the bottom step. PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds them so the path stays even and the porch landing does not become a puddle.
We cut the failed walk, rebuild the base, and set pavers with a pitch that moves water off the path. Edge restraint stays in place through heat and rain. Where a city sidewalk meets the walk, we match the elevation so the joint is not a toe-catcher after the next street project.
Porch landings and narrow front yards
Many 28th Street houses have a short front yard and a step that was poured against the walk. We set the landing so the riser stays consistent and the pavers do not rock. If irrigation heads sit in the walk line, we sleeve or shift them before the field goes down, not after the first mow chips a corner.
