294th Street North Crystal Beach Aprons
294th Street North is another Crystal Beach residential apron, but the problem we see here is the sidewalk joint, not only the gutter lip. A field that looks fine in the middle still rocks where it meets the public walk.
Match the joint, do not bury it
We do not run pavers over the sidewalk and hope the city never notices. The apron stops at a clean restraint, the joint is a real edge, and the fall still carries water to the street. Shell and loose sand come out of the base. Compacted aggregate goes in, deep enough for tires.
If the existing concrete apron is cracked but sound, we sometimes keep it as a band and reset only the paver field behind it. If the concrete is rocking, it comes out. Leaving a hollow slab under new pavers just moves the failure one season later.
How a quote starts
A photo of the sidewalk joint, the gutter, and the garage threshold is enough to tell us whether this is a reset or a rebuild. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798.
