344th Street North Palm Harbor Driveway Aprons
344th Street North is a short bay-side run in north Palm Harbor, where the numbered grid thins out toward Crystal Beach and the lots sit on fill that was never meant to carry a turning car.
Most drives are a single car width that flares at the sidewalk. The garage slab was poured higher than the old concrete ribbon, so the throat ponds after a summer storm and the apron sits proud of the walk.
What fails on a 344th Street North apron
The usual call is a sand-set field that has walked toward the street, a plastic edge that kicked out under the oak, or an apron a sidewalk grind left as a trip lip. Irrigation laterals and an older water service often sit under that first ten feet.
We excavate to a compacted aggregate base, set a restraint that can take a car, and use 80mm pavers where tires live. Thickness does not replace base. An 80mm stone on dumped sand still fails.
