40th Avenue South St. Pete Paver Courtyards
40th Avenue South runs through the south St. Petersburg grid between the Lakewood side streets and the older bungalow blocks closer to 4th Street. Courtyards here are often a short concrete pad that has settled under oak shade, with a side walk that no longer meets the city sidewalk at the same height.
What the lots need
The usual failure is a thin sand bed over native soil. After a wet summer the field dips at the downspout splash and at the garage threshold. PaverForge Hardscapes excavates that soft pocket, rebuilds a compacted crushed-concrete base, and resets bedding sand so the new courtyard drains toward the lawn or a flush drain, not back at the slab.
Soldier-course borders hold the edge where cars cut the corner. We keep a small isolation joint at the house slab so the paver field can move without telegraphing a crack into the entry walk.
How to start
Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or use the book-online page. Photos of the low spot, the sidewalk joint, and the street frontage are enough for a same-day reply. We walk the lot before locking a number. The same crew covers St. Pete Beach, Gulfport, and the rest of south St. Petersburg.
