41st Street NE side yards are narrow. The fence is on the property line, the condenser sits in the only flat spot, and the trash cart has to reach the street without crossing a neighbor's grass. A pretty field that blocks the unit or ponds at the fence is not a finish.

Clearance, fence, and the low side

We keep service clearance around the condenser and a straight cart path to the gate. The edge against the fence is rigid so the course does not creep under the boards. Pitch follows the existing swale. If the lot falls toward the house, we break that fall with a small drain path rather than sending water at the stem wall.

Access is the other constraint. Material often comes through the front gate in a wheelbarrow, not a skid steer. That changes the base depth we can honestly build in a day, and we say so before the number is locked.
