471st Street North Palm Harbor Courtyard Pavers
A Palm Harbor courtyard between the house and the lanai is a small field with a hard drainage problem. Sliders want a flush sill. The wall wants the water going away. Shade from the screen enclosure keeps the field damp, so a flat pitch grows algae and a steep pitch looks wrong at the door.
Field layout
We size the courtyard from the slider track to the screen or the side fence, then pick a pitch that clears the sill by the manufacturer gap and still falls to a drain or an open edge. On 471st Street North lots the side yard is often the only outfall. The field is kept out of that path so the courtyard does not become the swale.
Base and edges
Screen-enclosure footings and AC pads interrupt the base. We compact around them instead of bridging over soft fill. Edge restraint goes against the house only where the slab edge can take a pin. Against a stem wall we use a restrained border that can be lifted later if the lanai is enclosed. Polymeric sand is held back from the slider track so it does not lock the door.
Ask for a measure
PaverForge designs and installs courtyard pavers in Palm Harbor and Ozona. We have not published a finished project photo for 471st Street North. If that courtyard is holding water at the slider, call 727-490-9798.
