4th Street NE Old Northeast Walkways
4th Street NE is the busier north-south edge of Old Northeast, where walkways leave a sidewalk and squeeze past AC condensers, irrigation heads, and a side gate that was never meant for a wheelbarrow.
PaverForge Hardscapes installs and re-levels those walks from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 or use https://www.paverforge.com/book-online with photos of the gate and the low spot.
Width before pattern
A 4th Street NE side walk fails when it is built to a catalog width instead of the gate. We measure the gate opening, the condenser clearance, and the hose bib before we pick a module. A soldier border that has to be cut at every post is a maintenance problem, not a look.
Irrigation overspray is the other failure. Heads that spray the joint sand wash the field out in a season. We set the edge below the spray line or note the head that has to move before we lock the border.
Spec we quote
Compacted aggregate base, not a sand-only bed on native fill.
Pitch that does not dump onto the neighbor or back at the house slab.
A rigid edge restraint that can be reset if a root lifts one corner.
Through-body color pavers, because the west side of 4th Street takes full afternoon sun.
A spare course left on site so a later utility cut can be matched.
If the walk rocks but the stones are intact, we re-level. If the sand bed has washed into the lawn, we rebuild the base and reuse what we can.
We also cover Beach Drive NE, North Shore Drive, and the numbered streets east of 4th from the same crew.
