54th Street South St. Pete Paver Approaches
54th Street South is a through street, not a quiet loop. Driveway throats take more turning traffic than an avenue cul-de-sac, and the apron is where a thin base shows up first.
Aprons on a busier street
Cars cut the corner. The outside paver course rocks, polymeric sand washes into the gutter, and the sidewalk joint opens. We rebuild the throat back to a sound base, set a tighter edge restraint, and pitch the apron so stormwater reaches the gutter instead of the garage. The public sidewalk stays with the city.
What we need before a number
Photos of the street frontage, the sidewalk joint, and the garage lip tell us whether this is a panel repair or a full approach. Utility locate markings in the swale matter, because a water meter or cable pedestal often sits inside the work area and needs a flush collar, not a paver on top of the lid.
