57th Avenue North St. Pete Aprons
57th Avenue North runs through the north side of St. Petersburg, where older slabs meet a city sidewalk that has been ground or raised more than once.
The private apron is what fails. The lip at the gutter catches a tire. The low throat ponds after a hard rain and washes joint sand into the street.
What we reset
We cut the failed throat, rebuild the base so it pitches away from the garage, and set a paver apron that meets the sidewalk without a trip edge.
Utility cuts in the parkway stay outside the new field when we can. If a cut already crosses the throat, we box it with a flush collar so the next repair does not take the whole apron.
