59th Avenue North St. Pete Walkways

59th Avenue North walks fail where an oak root lifts one run and the door landing stays put. The step that used to be one riser becomes two, and the gate drags.

A thin sand set over roots does not last. The next rainy season heaves the same pavers.

How we rebuild the path

We lift the failed run, cut or bridge the root with the arborist if it is a protected oak, and reset the walk on a base that can move a little without opening a trip edge.

The landing at the door stays flush with the threshold. Gate tracks get a recess so the wheel does not ride the joint.
