603rd Street North Crystal Beach Courtyard Pavers
603rd Street North courtyards in Crystal Beach are the space between the front door, the side gate, and a drip line of live oaks. They are not driveways, and they fail when they are built like one leftover ribbon of sand.
Oak shade and summer rain
Acorns, irrigation overspray, and a low spot against the stem wall are the usual call. We proof the subgrade, place geotextile where the sand pumps, and compact aggregate in lifts before a 60 mm patio field goes down. If a golf cart or a truck will cross it, that field becomes 80 mm.
Pitch leaves the house beam and finds a yard drain or the side swale. We do not send water at the neighbor's fence or back at the slider.
A field you can maintain
Soldier courses at the gate and the stoop can be lifted later without opening the whole courtyard. Joints get polymeric sand only after the field is dry and locked. A seal on a dirty Crystal Beach courtyard just traps the oak tannin.
