69th Street North St. Pete Aprons
69th Street North aprons take the same daily load as a driveway and the same storm as a swale. A pretty running bond at the throat is the first place the field opens up.
Throat, joint, and pitch
Herringbone in a vehicular thickness, a restrained edge, and a city-side joint that meets the sidewalk without a lip. Pitch leaves the garage. We do not pitch toward the house to make the sidewalk look flatter.
If the existing concrete apron is sound and only the private side has failed, we match the joint and rebuild the failed bay. If the whole throat has settled, we cut it out. Patching a settled apron with a thin overlay is how the next rain finds the garage.
