6th Avenue North Driveway Aprons in St. Petersburg
6th Avenue North sits on the downtown St. Petersburg grid, north of Central. Lots are older. Roots, a settled alley, or a sidewalk grind often show up at the apron before they show up in the middle of the drive.
PaverForge Hardscapes installs and re-levels those aprons from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 or use paverforge.com/book-online.
What we check before we cut
We look at the city sidewalk, the gutter line, and any root heave before we price the apron. A new field that ignores a raised sidewalk just creates a lip. Pitch is set so water leaves the garage, not so it ponds at the throat.
Compacted aggregate under the apron, not a skim coat over the old sand bed
Edge restraint at the street so the first course stays put
A tie to the sidewalk that a car can cross without a bump
Reuse of sound pavers when the failure is the base, not the stone
Downtown access
Staging is often the alley or a tight curb. We plan material drop before we dig. Send photos of the apron, the sidewalk, and any root lift. We walk the lot before we lock a number.
