71st Avenue North St. Pete Side Yards
Side yards on 71st Avenue North are narrow, and they carry everything the front yard cannot: the AC condenser, the gate, the bins, and the only path to the courtyard. A dirt or shell strip turns to mud in a July storm and tracks into the house. A paver run works if it is pitched to a swale and kept clear of the condenser pad.
What we isolate
The condenser sits on its own pad, not in the walking field, with clearance for the service doors. Gate tracks, if the gate is a slider, get a recess so the rail is not a trip edge. Downspouts that currently dump in the side yard are tied to a splash block or a short drain before the pavers go down. We do not pave over a wet low spot and hope the joint sand holds.
Separate condenser pad with service clearance
Gate leaf or track detail that does not bind
Fall to the rear swale or a channel at the low end
Width left for the meter and the hose bib
