720th Street North Crystal Beach Paver Driveway Aprons
Aprons on 720th Street North in Crystal Beach often share the throat with a second parking pad and a sandy swale. The street looks finished. The subgrade is still barrier-island sand with a water table that sits close to the surface after a high tide.
What the apron has to survive
The failure is usually the first six feet, where tires turn and stormwater sits. A thin sand set shifts, the edge restraint pops, and the sidewalk joint becomes a lip. We proof-roll the excavation, place geotextile where the sand is loose, and compact crushed base in lifts instead of one thick dump.
The vehicle field is 80mm pavers. Pitch goes to the street, not back at the garage. If the city sidewalk is broken at the flare, we photograph it for the inspection packet instead of burying the lip under the new field. Staging stays on the lot so the narrow Crystal Beach street stays open.
