82nd Avenue South Pinellas Point Paver Drives
82nd Avenue South is the southern residential edge of Pinellas Point, a short run of bay-side lots between the older oak canopy and the water.
The houses look finished. The drives are often a thin concrete ribbon or a sand-set paver field that has walked at the sidewalk throat.
What an 82nd Avenue South drive has to do
Most calls are two-car drives, a garage lip that now sits a paver thickness high, and a city sidewalk that the apron has to meet without a trip edge.
We excavate the failed throat, compact crushed base in lifts, and set 80mm concrete pavers so passenger cars do not dish the field after the first wet season.
Edge restraint goes in before the joint sand. A plastic edge kicked out along the lawn is how these short drives start to creep.
Water and the sidewalk
Pinellas Point lots shed toward the street or toward a side swale. We pitch the field to the existing crown and keep the apron flush with the sidewalk grind line.
