82nd Street North St. Pete Side Yards
82nd Street North lots are typical north St. Pete ranches: a narrow side yard between the house and the fence, used as the only route to the pool equipment, the AC pad, and the trash carts. Grass there turns to mud after a July storm, and a loose stepping-stone path rocks under a loaded cart.
What the side yard has to carry
The path needs a firm base, a width that clears the AC condenser and the fence, and a pitch that sends water to the rear swale instead of against the stem wall. We do not bury the weep holes or the hose bib. Where a downspout dumps in the middle of the run, we add a splash band or a short channel so the pavers are not the drain.
Edge restraint in a tight run
Open sides lose bedding sand into the planting bed. We set edge restraint or a hidden concrete curb on both sides, then lay a simple running-bond or herringbone field that can be lifted if a plumber has to open the yard later. Gates get a flush threshold so the cart does not hang up.
