83rd Street North St. Pete Aprons

83rd Street North is farther up the north St. Petersburg grid, where residential blocks meet busier cross streets that feed 4th Street North. Aprons here take more turning traffic than a quiet cul-de-sac, and the concrete at the sidewalk cut is often broken into pieces around the gutter.

The gutter cut is the weak point

Cars turn in off a slightly crowned street. If the apron has settled, the tire hits the broken lip twice a day. Oil staining and open joints let water into the base. We remove the failed section back to sound driveway, compact new base, and set pavers that meet the sidewalk panel without a trip edge.

When a re-level is enough

If the pavers are already there and only the street-side band has dropped, we lift that band, add base, and re-lay it to the gutter pitch. A full tear-out is for cracked concrete or a field that has lost its edge restraint. Either way the joint at the garage slab stays sealed so water does not run under the house slab.
