89th Street North St. Pete Aprons
89th Street North aprons take the same beating as the rest of this north St. Pete grid: heat, a sudden storm, and tires that stop at the sidewalk. A decorative band on a soft base will rut at the tire path first.
Apron spec
We cut the field flush to the sidewalk and keep the crown or cross-pitch so water leaves toward the street, not the garage. The base is compacted aggregate under the tire paths. Edge restraint stops the pavers from spreading at the lawn.
If the old apron was concrete that broke at the joint, we can replace that panel with pavers on a rebuilt base. We do not skim-coat a failed slab and call it a repair.
