Arkansas Avenue NE is a Shore Acres block between the canal lots and the higher ground toward 62nd Avenue North. Walkways here are short, but they carry wet feet, dock carts, and the only dry line from the car to the seawall stair.

What the walkway actually needs

A sand-only bed pumps on these lots. We excavate to a depth that leaves compacted aggregate under the field, then set the pitch so water leaves the path instead of pooling at the screen-cage door.

Edge restraint matters more than the pattern. Without a rigid edge, the first course walks into the shell rock and the joints open after one summer. We keep the path wide enough for a cart and clear of the irrigation heads.
