Boat Davit Footing Collars on Pinellas Canal-Lot Pavers

Canal lots in Pinellas often add a davit after the paver deck is already down. Bolting the base through the pavers without a collar cracks the field and lets salt water into the bedding. PaverForge Hardscapes sets a footing collar and an isolation joint before the davit is loaded.

Collar, not a random cut

The collar is a compacted concrete or paver-framed pad sized to the davit base, separated from the walking field by an isolation joint. We do not hide the anchor bolts under a loose paver. The joint is kept open enough for movement and closed enough that toes do not catch.

Seawall-cap tie-in matters. The collar stops short of the cap so the wall can move without dragging the deck. Drainage still falls to the seawall scupper or a deck drain, not into the davit pocket. Stainless anchors are the davit installer’s scope; we set the hardscape they bolt to.

Canal streets we cover

This detail shows up on canal lots from Shore Acres and Riviera Bay to Isla del Sol, Treasure Island, and Tierra Verde. Staging stays on the lot, not on the seawall. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
