Building a Dock Fish-Cleaning and Rinse Pad with a Trapped Drain
Canal lots in Pinellas often want a fish-cleaning station between the dock and the house. Scales, bait water, and a rinse hose will strip polymeric sand out of a flat patio in one season.
Drain, pitch, and the dock edge
We build a small field pitched to a trapped drain, not toward the pool deck or the seawall cap. The trap keeps solids out of the yard drain. The hose bib sits on a raised block so the bib itself is not a trip edge in the pavers.
Edge restraint is pinned, and the pad stops short of the seawall cap so a cap repair does not take the rinse field with it. Salt air argues for a denser paver and a joint that can be re-sanded without a full tear-out.
