Dock Pile Collar Splash Pads
A dock pile that lands beside or through a paver approach takes splash, abrasion, and the occasional line rub.
Joint sand at the pile is the first thing to leave. Once the sand is gone, the stones rock and the splash stain spreads.
A collar that can come up
We set a small collar pad around the pile, restrained at the outer edge, with a joint that can be opened when the pile or the hardware is serviced.
The collar is flush with the approach so a cart wheel does not drop into a ring of missing sand.
Not a fender and not a cleat
This is the pad at the pile itself. Fender footings and cleat collars are separate details and get their own pads.
