Flush Pool-Light Transformer Access Rings in a Finished Deck
Pool light transformers often end up under the new deck because the equipment pad was tight. A buried junction that cannot be opened fails the first time a lamp needs service. A flush access ring keeps the lid at paver grade.
How the ring is set
The electrician owns the transformer, the bonding, and the wet-niche wiring. PaverForge cuts the opening, sets a flush ring or lid frame in the field, and pins the surrounding pavers so the lid is not a trip edge. Bedding sand is kept out of the box. The ring is isolated from the pool beam so deck movement does not crack the niche.
Salt air and irrigation overspray are the usual Pinellas enemies. We do not bury the lid under polymeric sand, and we leave the manufacturer’s drain path open if the box is rated to shed water. A solid paver cap over a live transformer is the detail we remove and rebuild.
Ask before the deck is sanded
If the deck is already scheduled, mark the transformer before polymeric sand goes down. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798. We set these rings with pool-deck work across St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and mainland Pinellas.
