Flush Seawall Access-Ladder Standoff Plates
A swim ladder stands off the seawall so the rungs clear the cap. Once the cap walk is paved over those standoff feet, the only way to reset a loose bracket is to tear the field up. A flush standoff plate keeps each foot bay liftable and keeps the opening from becoming a toe catch.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets those plates on St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and the Pinellas canal lots we already work. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
What the plate is
It is a framed opening in the cap walk, set flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The frame is isolation, not structure for the ladder. The marine contractor owns the ladder, the brackets, and the wall. PaverForge owns the paver bay.
How it is built
Locate the standoff feet with the marine contractor before the walk is locked. Set a rigid frame so the surrounding field can be compacted without dropping into the opening. Keep the plate flush with the cap walk, pitched so it does not become a pond.
A trapped collar takes splash only if the cap has no other outfall. The plate lifts later without opening the rest of the field.
