Flush Seawall Bait-Station Drain Collars
A bait station on a Pinellas seawall cap looks like a small convenience. The rinse is the problem. Hose water, melted ice, and bait scraps leave through a hole that was cut into the cap, and the joint under that hole is where the cap starts to spall.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets flush drain collars at bait stations so the wash leaves through a trapped path instead of soaking the cap joint and the soil behind the wall.
What the collar is doing
This is not a fish-cleaning table drain and not a pump-out splash collar. It is the small flush ring at the bait-station rinse, set level with the cap so a dock cart does not catch it, and detailed so water cannot sit in the cut.
Collar cast or set flush with the seawall cap, not proud of the walking surface
A trapped outlet so rinse water does not run back into the cap joint
Edge of the cut cleaned and sealed before the collar goes in
Pitch on the cap kept, so the collar is not a new low spot
When to add one
Add the collar when the bait station is new, or when the cap around an existing rinse is already soft, stained, or open at the joint. Photos of the station, the cap joint, and the water side are enough to start. Call 727-490-9798. We build dock and seawall concrete details across Palm Harbor, Ozona, and the rest of coastal Pinellas.
