Flush Seawall Boarding-Ramp Hinge Plates
A boarding ramp hinges at the seawall cap. Once the cap walk is paved over that hinge, the only way to service it is to tear the field up. A flush hinge plate keeps one bay liftable and keeps the opening from becoming a toe catch.
What the plate is
It is a framed opening in the cap walk, set flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The frame is isolation, not structure for the ramp. The marine contractor owns the ramp, the hinge hardware, and the wall. PaverForge owns the paver bay.
How it is built
The hinge line is marked with the marine contractor before the walk is locked. A rigid frame lets the surrounding field be compacted without dropping into the opening. The plate stays flush, pitched so rinse water does not pond, and is not mortared to the hinge. We do not cover a weep, a tie-rod end, or a flap gate with the same plate.
What it is not
It is not a repair for a ramp that is already binding, and it is not a substitute for the hinge or the wall. If the ramp is twisting the cap, the marine contractor leads.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets these plates on St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and the Pinellas canal lots we already work. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
