What a flush hinge plate does

We recess a stainless or coated plate into the cap or the dock landing so the hinge leaf is flush with the walking surface when the step is stowed. The pocket is pitched to a weep, the anchors are isolated from the cap steel, and the plate edge is eased so a bare foot or a cart wheel does not catch it.
