Flush Seawall Cap-Drain Grate Collars
A flush seawall cap-drain grate collar sets the paver field level around the grate that takes rinse water off a dock walk or seawall cap. The grate still has to lift for a cleanout. The walk still has to stay flush when it is closed.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets those collars on St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and the Pinellas canal lots we already work. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
What the collar is
The collar is a framed opening in the cap walk, set flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The grate sits in the frame, not proud of the field and not buried under a course of pavers. We do not grout the grate to the surrounding stones.
Pitch leaves the walk high enough that rinse water reaches the grate and does not sit in the bay. The frame is isolated from the drain body so a future pull does not crack the courses around it.
What we do not own
The marine contractor owns the drain body, the outfall, and any flap at the water side. We own the paver bay that stays flush and lifts later. A collar is not a permit to discharge into the canal.
If the grate is also the only cleanout for a dock washdown, we size the opening so the lid can come off without pulling the field. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or PaverForge@gmail.com.
